Confession: Being in business can be a lonely experience, especially as a solopreneur.
Thankfully, though, (with the tremendous help of social media) I’ve managed to find my entrepreneurial village. And this village has helped me immensely.
In my latest for Black Enterprise, I talk about how you should never go solo as a solopreneur. Although it’s easy to get bogged down in your own “stuff,” it isn’t healthy or even a sustainable way to be.
I’ll also venture to say that while it’s certainly necessary and beneficial, oftentimes superficial “networking” isn’t enough. I’ve found that the number of people I know isn’t quite as important as the quality of my relationships with those people, or who knows me.
Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to build a business.
